Okay... I held off on sending out a Happy Holidays journal... but I just couldn't help myself; I had to do some sort of Christmas related journal. I'm just curious what everyone got (or gave)... any interesting gifts? I have an uncle who is always thinking of clever gifts to give out... this year he set up a game of Deal or No Deal. Each person got a chance to play (this was their gift). You picked one case (which had a certain dollar amount in it, that you weren't allowed to see). From there it went just like a regular game of Deal or No Deal. Eliminating other cases and having the "banker" give you an offer, to stop right there or continue if you wish. It was probably the most fun I've ever had with a Christmas gift... I thought it was just such a cool idea, and I ended up winning fifty bucks, heck ya! Something I personally did (for my immediate family)... was that I put "bonus gifts" along with the regular gifts. These were hidden around the living room, and contained self made gift certificates (Photoshop actually has practical use!!! Haha). For example, for my mom I gave her the "Foofy drink pass"... which is a certificate that tells her I will buy her a mixed drink of her choice for the next five times I go out to eat with her. She loves those drinks, but often they are a little expensive so she ends up not getting them. Anyway, that's a little of what I did.

Let me know... what did you get? What did you give? Did you have a fun holiday?

P.S.- As always, I'm totally aware that not everyone celebrates Christmas. So while I say Christmas, I really mean any holiday that you might celebrate at this time of year. Also, if you don't celebrate anything, just disregard this... I completely understand.

Well I am going to be buying a Canon SX100 IS (with my parents money of course).

Haha, my mom bought me these ridiculous metallic pants from Old Navy. I'm kinda a fashion junkie, so it was really funny.

She goes, "You don't like those? Don't all the girls like those these days? You don't even want to try them on?" Haha, it was pretty priceless.

I write music, so the most interesting gift I rec'd was a Rhyming dictionary. I was really stoked about that.

I had very little money to buy gifts this year. I spent a total of $200 on 5 different people. :)

That Deal or No Deal thing is a really good idea! It sounds like a lot of fun.

Do you have any family traditions that you simply cannot break? :)

well we don't really celebrate xmas, i got myself a purple sonyericson fone , i just loved the color and it doesnt look bad ( i go for the design mostly so aslong as i can call and send messages and it has a bluetooth + must look cute then i'd get it) ;P i dono if that counts but oh well its a gift..Oh yeah my aunt hands the young generation in our family ( includes me lol ) a perfume set for instance and fun stuff in different occassions which is always nice :aww:

I love the way ur uncle thinks on handing smart fun gifts, it seems like u guys had so much fun :aww: i'm glad u did. And gift vouchers idea is just brilliant , i might do something like that but with funny gifts like givin them massages (since it seems like no one knows how to give a good massage in this family) so some simple gift certificates for a good laugh would be fun ;P
i personally like giving out hand crafted gifts or/and unique gifts that really add a nice memory. Ahhh now u made me get into the "giving gifts" spirit... got to postpone that feeling for a while though since i need to work on my dissertation research :faint:

ok got to stop typing coz my sis has been callin me for a while so i better leave if i want my laptop to stay alive

Hope all ur days are as fun as ur christmas :rose:

all the best, ciao
